Cincinnati Acceleration Academies is a hybrid school. This means students complete coursework with an online curriculum but come to campus each week to work face-to-face with licensed teachers, mentors, and advisors who know them by name.
This isn’t a virtual school where students are on their own. It’s a supported, relationship-centered environment designed for students who need or want more than a traditional classroom can offer.

Students graduate with their official high school diploma, not a GED. We hold several in-person graduation ceremonies per year so that our students and their families can celebrate their achievements.
OHIO REQUIRED COURSES AND END OF COURSE EXAMS English Language Arts 4 Credits – English I, English II, English III, English IV Yes (English II) Mathematics 4 Credits – One credit must be Algebra II, Geometry with Statistics, Algebra I, Algebra II with Probability, Pre-Calculus/Statistics/Calculus. Yes (Algebra I) Science 3 Credits – one unit of physical sciences, one unit of life sciences and one unit of advanced study in one or more of the following sciences: chemistry, physics or other physical science; advanced biology or other life science; astronomy, physical geology or other earth or space science.

In addition to fulfilling curriculum requirements and meeting the competency requirements, students also must show they are prepared for their next steps after high school. State law created 12 diploma seals for students to demonstrate academic, technical and professional readiness for careers, college, the military or self-sustaining professions. Each seal allows students to demonstrate knowledge and skills essential for future success in their chosen post-high school paths. Students will demonstrate readiness by earning at least two diploma seals, one of which must be state-defined. Seals help students develop an array of critical skills that are valuable to them as they transition to the next steps after high school. Schools should consider encouraging students to pursue seals that meet their individual interests and skills. We know that getting to campus can feel like the biggest obstacle. That’s why we offer transportation options to help students get to and from campus consistently and safely:

Graduation Candidates receive the flexibility they need with a required 25 hours of on-site learning each week, plus year-round access to our online learning platform and dedicated Content Coaches. Whether you're balancing work, family, or other responsibilities, you'll have the support you need to earn your high school diploma on your own terms.
Choose the block schedule that works best for you.
We build your schedule with you at orientation, so it fits around job, family and life. Stay consistent — we check progress weekly, and most GCs finish a course in about 3-4 weeks.

Our purpose is to help students earn a high school diploma in the most supportive way possible!
- Classes are designed to be completed 1 at a time within 2-3 weeks.
- We are open year-round allowing for flexibility in scheduling and minimal disruption in momentum.
- Curriculum is available 24 hours a day and teachers are one email, text, or call away.
- Content Coaches — that's what we call our teachers — are available to each student in-person and remotely to provide personalized support and intervention on a flexible schedule.
- Every student is assigned a Graduation Candidate Advocate that meets with them multiple times a week to support their success and engagement.
- Life and Career Coaches are available at the campus to provide guidance and resources to help students achieve their graduation goal and plan for post-secondary success.
- Acceleration Academies offers laptop computers and WiFi hotspots for students who need them.
- As proud members of the Cincinnati community, our team is able to connect students to community resources to support non-academic barriers to success.

- We review all IEPs & 504 plans with your school district prior to enrolling. This is part of the application review process.
- We have dedicated special education teachers in each academy.
- We have English Language Learner (ELL) coaches in each academy. Course content can be translated to other languages.

The Safer Ohio School Tip Line is a free safety resource available to all Ohio schools. The tip line is an anonymous reporting system that accepts tips via call, text, webform, and mobile app 24 hours-a-day. Anyone can download the Safer Ohio School Tip Line app or use the webform.
This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safety — whether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.
Things to report to the tip line include (but are not limited to):
- Bullying incidents;
- Withdrawn student behaviors;
- Verbal or written threats observed toward students, faculty or schools;
- Hazing;
- Weapon/suspicious devices on or near school grounds;
- Gang-related activities;
- Unusual/suspicious behavior of students or staff;
- Self-harm or suicidal sentiments; and
- Any other school safety-related concerns.
