Chief Academic Officer

Dr. Margie Sharp’s commitment to public education is evident in her 35 years of service leading school and district reform efforts in rural, urban and suburban districts.  She began her career in education as a classroom teacher and quickly moved into a variety of leadership roles including that of Assistant Principal, Principal, Director of Elementary Education, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction (K-12), and Assistant Superintendent of Strategic Initiatives and Curriculum and Instruction.   In addition, Margie served as adjunct faculty member for the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program at the University of Delaware.

Margie has been involved with school reform on a national level serving as a Senior Associate for National Reform for a non-profit organization providing technical assistance, professional development, and leadership development for state departments of education and school districts.

Margie’s areas of expertise include leading district-wide strategic planning processes, curriculum development, curriculum audits, assessment systems, leadership development, professional development initiatives, instructional technology, and school turnaround.  

Margie is passionate about the value of education for all individuals and works diligently to ensure that equitable educational opportunities are available for all youth.

Dr. Sharp received the following degrees from the University of Delaware:  Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Special Education, a Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership, and a Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction.
