Lowell Adams

Polk Math Content Coach

Lowell grew up in Gainesville, Florida, home of the Florida Gators.  He graduated from the University of Florida in 1981 with a B.S. in Math Education, and he obtained a master’s degree in Math Education from the University of Florida in 1983. Most of his adult years since that time have been spent as a teacher.  For twenty-five of those years he worked for the Florida Department of Corrections, mostly as a math teacher.  He has also worked as a math teacher for the North American Family Institute at Department of Juvenile Justice facilities, and for the Volusia County School District. While searching on the internet for excellent places to be a math teacher, he found the position of Math Content Coach at Acceleration Academies, and thought it was a very exciting opportunity. He is very glad that he was selected for the position, and he has found that over time, the experience as a Content Coach has become increasingly exciting and valuable.
