Kim Lundy

Polk EXECUTIVE Director


Kim has served as the Executive Director of Excelsior Learning and Development Academy, Director of Academics, District Literacy Coach, Development/ Intervention Specialist and Teacher. She has piloted several international and national education programs, developed school instructional plans and goals, and continues to consult for schools who want to raise the bar for their directors, principals, teachers and students.  Her work has yielded stellar results at every level of education including the university level; where her strategic planning efforts for Institutional Advancement assisted students and professionals in pursuing lifelong dreams of completing college degrees. Through her relentless efforts, students have entered and completed prestigious universities across America including UC Berkeley, Columbia, Emory, Florida Agricultural/Mechanical University and Savannah State University. She pursued degrees in Political Science and English for her undergraduate education and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Savannah State University.  Kim also completed continuing education coursework by attending Harvard’s Worldwide Program and Jacksonville University. Kim believes that education opens doors for the disadvantaged and underserved, and also keeps those doors from being shut again.

Favorite or most significant year in school and why: 3rd grade- I won my first short story writing contest. 

Favorite fictional books: The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho and The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini 

Favorite non-fictional books: Creating Innovators, by Tony Wagner and Watch of the Lord, by Mahesh Chavda

Real-world superpower: To say “yes” to those who have been told “no” concerning their lifelong dreams!!
