Karlie is the Career Coach at Polk Acceleration Academy. She was born and raised in Tampa, Florida and has lived in Lakeland, Florida with her husband for three years. In her spare time, she loves to cook, decorate her home, and spend time with her husband and adorable German Shepard, Sammi. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida (GO BULLS!) where she majored in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences. Her professional background has been in the social services, legal, and customer service fields. She never thought that she would end up in the education field, but now that she is here, she cannot imagine working in another field. For as long as she can remember, she has always wanted a career where she can make a positive contribution to society, and with Acceleration Academies she feels like she is doing just what she was made to do.

Favorite or most significant year in school and why: Senior year- I was co-captain of the dancerette squad and we won the football state championship that year.

Favorite historical-adjacent movie: Forrest Gump

Favorite book: I have never been an avid reader, but my favorite book is The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, which just so happens to be one of my favorite movies as well.

Favorite food: Anything Mexican and sushi (it is difficult to pick a favorite).

Real-world superpower: I have an insanely good intuition, to the point where it kind of freaks me out.
