Polk Graduation candidate advocate


Joann is a Graduation Candidate Advocate. She attended Florida Memorial University and Florida International University where she majored in Biology. Joann enjoys spending time volunteering with youth outreach programs and less fortunate children.  She relocated to Lakeland, Florida due to her mother being terminally ill. While working with PAA, she uses her personal experiences of perseverance to help motivate Graduation Candidates. Joann is a positive example of pursuing an education in spite of life's challenges in order to become successful in life. 


Favorite or most significant year in school and why: 1st Grade teacher Mr. Oginstie saw potential in me and made me want to learn!
